Dear Amy, There is United Way...you just dial 211 on any telephone and if they cannot assist you...they will know who can. Salvation Army has heat share...and they pay heating bills. I would also talk to your state welfare department. They should have resources in your area. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I being a survivor of a domestic abuse relationship...know it is hard.... be sure to tell....211 about the abuse....it may get you more resources not available to others. Best Wishes!

I have been in your shoes before as a single mom and in an abuse relationship. I unfortuantlly at the time am having money problems or I would help you in anyway I possible could. Here are a few things I did to get the help I needed I hope that they will work for you. Try the welfare energy department, your town of trustee's, call the places your bills are through and they will give you some places in your area that will help. The place that helped me the most was The Salvation Army, Thank God for those people! And also many churches will help and some offer councling which might be a good idea for the horrible things that you have went through. And most of all find God in your heart and he will walk you through your lifes most troubled times. And be greatful that your children are there with you every moment and they are healthy. amy may god bless you and watch over you and your kids.Please seek out a church in your area and give them a chance to help you. there are many and I know they would love to help you.and look into energy assistance programs in you area as well they will help as well . hi just wondering if you have applied for section 8. I live in michigan so i dont know what you have in Co. Im trying to get help myself i just had a baby and im trying to get a place over here. I read somewhere that someone was getting ssd and ssi but i dont know how you get that. you could prolly go to the family independency agency they might help too.
